Pictures can convey more information than thousands of words, which is one reason why Google’s new PLA format — which moves graphics and price to the forefront across much of the Google SERP — is so intriguing to electronic retail marketers. This article explores the effect of a change to image or price on the overall success of a PLA listing in a multitude of scenarios, including a product-specific ad and in PLA listings formats known as the “8-pack” and “5-pack.”
