June 2, 2015: It’s long overdue, but GIFs are finally supported on Facebook. You can now express yourself in animated form on your Facebook posts! We’ve written before about how a GIF can help brands and users add a little bit of easy humor into their content. According to HubSpot, the GIF can serve as an excellent call to action. “The animated GIF is guiding the viewer’s eye along a specific path without being obtrusive.”
We love websites like giphy that provide huge, searchable libraries to help you find the perfect animation. You could also create your own branded images using a site like MakeAGif! So, it’s about time that the world’s largest social media network has added a GIF-friendly update. To post, you simply add the “.gif” link to your Facebook status box and the gif should generate automatically!
The use of GIFs is a great marketing technique for almost every business that wants to approach users with a lighthearted voice. We, at Didit, use them constantly on our tumblr.
